NPL this weekend

Quick reminder that we have NPL games this weekend.

Saturday at ~~1:45pm~~ 10:30 am against Eclipse at their fields.
Wear green/white. Bring navy.

August 22-23 Games in Plano

I’m sure y’all know we have more SRPL games this weekend in Plano.

We play Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM at High Point Park (field D). We will be wearing Navy (please bring white/green too).

Maybe we can grab dinner at that Mexican place across the street? It was pretty good last time we were there.

Sunday’s game is at a different complex. We play at 9:45 AM at Carpenter Park (field N). It’s in the same direction as the other fields, but closer – only 5 miles away. We would normally wear our white/green kit to this game as the home team, but our opponent has asked us to wear navy since they only have a white kit right now. So…wear navy again, but bring white/green.

Also…our NPL schedule has been posted. Kind of. Check it out here. What you need to know is that all of these games should be in the Houston area (even though they don’t have locations listed yet). The 8/29-30 games sound like they will be at our own facilities (either South Campus or MacGregor).

Recap

It was good to see so many of y'all at the party last night. I wanted to recap some of the things we discussed just so all the info was in one place.

Training
The same schedule that's been posted for a while, but Mark will start to add some TRX training on Wednesdays in conjunction with Futsal.

Fall Season
By now, I'm sure you're very aware of our SRPL schedule. There are two West divisions, and there will be a playoff among them. That is scheduled for October 17-18 in Norman, OK. The top 6 teams from our group of 8 make it to the playoff. Plan on this.

We learned about the STYSA/USC stuff. And I posted the USC schedule here on the blog. You can check their website for changes or updates. Unfortunately the way the site is structured, I don't think I can create a link to our schedule exclusively (you have to click the options). http://usctx.org/MasterSked/Show-MasterSked-Table.aspx

There will be some NPL games, but it won't be like last year. No more trips to Dallas or Tulsa, unless we're in a playoff. The games will be local, and we'll have flexibility with timing.

Tournaments
It looks like we've settled on the CASL tournament December 4-6 in Raleigh, NC. It's a big event, and it is being held in conjunction with the NCAA women's college cup. Our entry will include tickets for the girls to see the college games.

We will pass on the Disney event this year, but keep it in mind for next.

In the spring, we are planning on the Players College Showcase in Las Vegas. This is March 18-20, which will be the back half of spring break for most of us, so plan accordingly.

That's pretty much it. I'll be back to you all shortly with an estimate of costs for this season.

A big thanks again to Neil and Patty. The girls seemed to have had a blast. And another big thanks to Mark, we are lucky to have him.

Uniforms, Scrimmage, Travel, and Tournaments.

Tonight we are scrimmaging the ’01 girls at the West U Rec Center. Mark said 7:40, but if you come 10 minutes early, I’ll give you your new kits to wear tonight We are wearing navy—white—navy , but that should be easy to plan for since I’ll have all of your stuff.

We are going to order the 3^rd kit. I have a record of the sizes that everyone already ordered. After you get a chance to try on your kit tonight, let me know if you want me to order a different size for the 3^rd kit. If the size is good, no response is necessary.

We have our SRPL games this weekend. Please arrive at least 45 minutes before game time.

Saturday is 1:45pm at Veterans Park (#6) in College Station. We will wear our green/white kit.

Y’all have the information about the hotel in Plano. Go ahead and make those reservations.

For the Little Rock trip, I have some rooms blocked off for us. They only have about 10 doubles. There are some king rooms and a few jr. suites available as well. They have really nice rollaway beds that can be used in the rooms if you need them. Rooms are $159/night. Jr. suites are $210. Call 1-877-637-0037 and mention “Houston Express 00G” to get those rates. They are saving the block of rooms for us until Aug 14.

Lastly, we need to talk about tournaments and expenses. Right now we are tentatively planning on the Disney Tournament at the end of the year and the D’feeters tournament in Dallas the Friday-Sunday immediately after Thanksgiving. Maybe we can spend a couple minutes after tonight’s game talking about this. There are other options, it just depends on how much travel we want to endure.
